Frequently
Asked Questions
Why should I take this survey?
Research demonstrates that school working conditions—time, teacher empowerment, school leadership, professional development, and facilities and resources—strongly influence teacher retention and student achievement. With a minimum 35% response rate, this survey will provide you, your school and your district with information about the status of working conditions in your school. Your opinion matters. This survey will help put your experiences and perceptions at the center of school, district and state efforts to better recruit and retain quality teachers.
The Clark County School District, in conjunction with the Clark County Education Association and the Center for Teaching Quality, is asking all Clark County educators to complete the online Teaching and Learning Conditions Survey to provide input regarding conditions in schools across the district.
Is this survey really confidential?
Yes! Only Center for Teaching Quality (CTQ) researchers will have access to these surveys. No reports will include information that could identify individual participants and no one in the district will be able to view individual survey results with demographic information. You will be provided a randomly generated log-in code. This code ensures the confidentiality of your survey responses and ensures the survey is completed only once by each respondent. As with any online survey, it is important that you LOGOUT and close the browser before leaving the survey. This ensures the privacy of your responses if you are using a shared or public computer.
How will the results be used?
This survey will provide data on issues that are essential to improving teaching and learning. These data can be used for school improvement planning, faculty conversations, and consideration of district and state policies and programs. The Clark County School District and the Clark County Education Association will work to provide assistance for the improvement of school climate.
Who is the Center for Teaching Quality?

CTQ has worked with several other states on similar teaching and learning conditions initiatives and has successfully completed surveys in Arizona, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
I have an additional question. Who can I contact?
